Claire Janigo

Claire grew up in Bellingham, Washington, where her father, a native of Alaska, sparked her early love of the outdoors. Her mother, a French ex-pat, inspired Claire’s first journey to France on a six-month exchange, where she immersed herself in the language and culture. At the end of her stay, a two-week ski trip to Chamonix sealed her fate—like so many before her, she fell in love with the Mont Blanc Massif. Since 2012, Claire has called Chamonix home and feels fortunate to work there as a guide. She delights in bringing the landscape to life for others, sharing not only its natural beauty but also the rich history that has shaped the lives of those who call it home—both people and wildlife. When not in the mountains, Claire works as a sports massage therapist, helping fellow outdoor enthusiasts recover and get back to doing what they love.
