Europe Trip Leader
Before becoming a wilderness guide, Ian worked as a firefighter and, because he loved adventure travel, he qualified as an instructor of mountaineering, telemark skiing, and sea kayaking. His travels have included backpacking in Iceland, canoeing in the Yukon, diving in the Galápagos, and teaching telemark skiing in Norway and Europe. His biggest adventure was traveling 14,000 miles from Valdez, Alaska, to San Diego, California, rock climbing all along the way. Back in his home country of Scotland, he takes great joy in introducing people to the places he loves the best. When not guiding, Ian enjoys the classic ice routes on Ben Nevis and sea kayaking in the tidal races off the west coast of Scotland.
